In addition to the merger with PMOGA (PMO Global Alliance), the introduction of PMI Infinity and two other new courses on the use of artificial intelligence in project management, there was also news of changes that may bring PMI closer to its members, but which most members may not even be aware of.
In a sense, it was sensational news when PMI announced that it had introduced location-based pricing to make opportunities to build project management skills more equitable around the world, lowering the barriers to entry for many potential community members globally. Global economic data from the World Bank is used to determine prices by location. For us in Germany, this has no impact. But it does for potential members in poorer countries. Overall, PMI hopes that this will lead to an influx into our community.
A second major change at PMI in the member area concerns the abolition of email communication in PMI's Member Care Support in order to provide faster, more direct and more dialog-oriented help. You can choose between the three options WhatsApp, SMS or live chat; an email address is no longer available.
An even more inconspicuous change - because it is now state of the art - concerns the PMI website itself. PMI has implemented a translation tool that can translate the original English language into nine different languages, including German.

It will be interesting to see whether and how the new "PMI Next" strategy will create "even more" proximity to members. We will report back.
