39th English PMI Round Table Frankfurt
PMI Round Table on Project Management topic
Topic: The Elephant in the Room is Systems Thinking
Subtitle: How implementing Systems thinking principles helped bring clarity and control to a complex VUCA project
03.06.2025 18:30 - 20:30
Dear PM enthusiasts, members of PMI and friends,
Greetings and here's the invite to the next English Round Table for the project management professionals living in and around the city of Frankfurt. With this event we intend to facilitate exchange between PMs, and we will talk about Project & Program Management related topic in the Organization.
This meeting will allow you to discuss on any of the project management related topic or questions in your project, program, organization, or your day-to-day activities. Our volunteer team from the PMI Germany Chapter will be available to facilitate the discussion.
As we are an international team, the language of the event is English, and the questions can be discussed in German if required.
Abstract: In high-pressure environments filled with technical hurdles, shifting timelines, and endless escalations, teams often default to a firefighting mode, leaving Systems thinking principles by the wayside. But what if structure was the very thing we needed to restore clarity and deliver impact?
This talk explores how implementing a tailored, lightweight System framework transformed a chaotic, global SAP deployment involving hundreds of rollouts into a well-aligned, agile operation. Drawing on PMP-aligned pillars—scope, change, risk, cost, and knowledge management—I’ll share how, together with Project Management methodologies and Systems thinking principles, I brought measurable improvements in team morale, stakeholder trust, and delivery predictability.

Unprepared for Change:
Regaining Control After Sudden Disruption
We often don’t have the luxury of a “textbook” approach to implementing change or leading a transformation. Sudden regulatory shifts, unexpected market disruptions, or other circumstances can force an immediate response. There’s no time for detailed planning, stakeholder preparation, or even a well-thought-out communication campaign. Does that mean we have to accept chaos and constant crises as the new normal? Not necessarily!
