Unprepared for Change:
Regaining Control After Sudden Disruption
We often don’t have the luxury of a “textbook” approach to implementing change or leading a transformation. Sudden regulatory shifts, unexpected market disruptions, or other circumstances can force an immediate response. There’s no time for detailed planning, stakeholder preparation, or even a well-thought-out communication campaign. Does that mean we have to accept chaos and constant crises as the new normal? Not necessarily!

Industrial organisations often struggle with managing complex, interdependent projects while ensuring smooth operations across multiple, often specialised teams and external stakeholders. This environment frequently results in bottlenecks, misalignment, and operational inefficiencies. Factors such as unclear roles, fragmented communication, and difficulties in coordinating intricate tasks only exacerbate these issues, which, in turn, lead to overloaded teams and projects that seem to go on forever.
Many teams have attempted to address these challenges multiple times, often without success, leaving them wary that any new approach might simply be another waste of time. Because of these repeated disappointments, they struggle to envision and practise alternative ways of working. That is why we have developed a practical, hands-on simulation—built on Businessmap—that goes beyond theory and gives participants the chance to learn by doing. By actively engaging with new methods in a controlled setting, participants gain a clearer understanding of why visualising the flow of work, coordinating across teams, and systematically improving processes can make a significant difference.
While this simulation does not provide instant solutions, it equips participants with the awareness and foundational insights needed to explore and apply these concepts in their own organisations. As an added benefit, it also introduces participants to Businessmap, demonstrating how this versatile platform supports a structured, visual approach to project and process management. Ultimately, the simulation bridges the gap between theory and real-world collaboration, helping industrial teams discover more effective ways of working.

Processes: Integration and Initiation
One of the most fundamental topics in project management is choosing the best methodology for an upcoming project. A lot of other decisions in the course of the project are based on this decision. Since this topic is so important, there are also quite a few questions about it in the PMP exam. At the same time, many project managers only have experience with a certain type of project, and need to get to know the whole range of possibilities with their advantages and disadvantages in order to be able to make a carefully considered decision and give the "best" answer in the exam.
