Change of speaker for LGDA webinar on 28.5.2025
Unfortunately, the originally planned speaker, Hrishikesh Deshpande, will not be available on 28.5.2025. We wish him all the best.
Our co-volunteer Thomas Walenta ( https://www.linkedin.com/in/thwalenta/) will be the backup speaker with his presentation on wisdom:
Mentally challenged people are treated to develop specific competencies. Psychiatrists have documented ten competencies, which together they call wisdom. If you improve those competencies in yourself, you will increase your capability to withstand mental challenges, become more resilient, and be followed by others as a trusted leader.
You can build and develop your wisdom, helping you to become more resilient and a respected leader who can help teams tackle any challenge.

39th English PMI Round Table Frankfurt
PMI Round Table on Project Management topic
Topic: The Elephant in the Room is Systems Thinking
Subtitle: How implementing Systems thinking principles helped bring clarity and control to a complex VUCA project
03.06.2025 18:30 - 20:30
Dear PM enthusiasts, members of PMI and friends,
Greetings and here's the invite to the next English Round Table for the project management professionals living in and around the city of Frankfurt. With this event we intend to facilitate exchange between PMs, and we will talk about Project & Program Management related topic in the Organization.
This meeting will allow you to discuss on any of the project management related topic or questions in your project, program, organization, or your day-to-day activities. Our volunteer team from the PMI Germany Chapter will be available to facilitate the discussion.
As we are an international team, the language of the event is English, and the questions can be discussed in German if required.
Abstract: In high-pressure environments filled with technical hurdles, shifting timelines, and endless escalations, teams often default to a firefighting mode, leaving Systems thinking principles by the wayside. But what if structure was the very thing we needed to restore clarity and deliver impact?
This talk explores how implementing a tailored, lightweight System framework transformed a chaotic, global SAP deployment involving hundreds of rollouts into a well-aligned, agile operation. Drawing on PMP-aligned pillars—scope, change, risk, cost, and knowledge management—I’ll share how, together with Project Management methodologies and Systems thinking principles, I brought measurable improvements in team morale, stakeholder trust, and delivery predictability.

Processes: Integration and initiation
One of the most fundamental topics in project management is choosing the best methodology for an upcoming project. A lot of other decisions in the course of the project are based on this decision. Since this topic is so important, there are also quite a few questions about it in the PMP exam. At the same time, many project managers only have experience with a certain type of project, and need to get to know the whole range of possibilities with their advantages and disadvantages in order to be able to make a carefully considered decision and give the "best" answer in the exam.
✨ Don’t miss out—register now and transform your PMP preparation into a well-planned, successful project! ✨

This event will be held in German language!
Following the great success of the first webinar in November 2024 on the introduction of Kanban in the BASF Tamol Cluster, we are now pleased to offer a continuation in German with completely new insights.
Michael Pölker and Sven Sebastian, responsible for project and asset management in the Tamol Cluster, report on the consistent further development of the initiative: from the plant change process to the embedding of the new working model in the entire department. The focus is on the concrete results, which include both measurable improvements and genuine cultural changes.
In addition to many practical examples, there will be an insight into daily work with the Kanban system based on the Businessmap software platform. Particularly exciting: how the initiative is naturally aligned with BASF's "Winning Behaviours", which are currently regarded throughout the company as a guideline for successful collaboration and leadership.
A must-read for anyone who wants to make project work and all production processes in industrial organisations effective and future-oriented.
The event is organised in cooperation between the PMI Germany Chapter and Xuviate. PMI certificate holders can claim 1 PDU!

Unprepared for Change:
Regaining Control After Sudden Disruption
We often don’t have the luxury of a “textbook” approach to implementing change or leading a transformation. Sudden regulatory shifts, unexpected market disruptions, or other circumstances can force an immediate response. There’s no time for detailed planning, stakeholder preparation, or even a well-thought-out communication campaign. Does that mean we have to accept chaos and constant crises as the new normal? Not necessarily!

Join us for an empowering session focused on understanding, building, and applying confidence in leadership and professional life. This month, we’re diving into two powerful reads that complement each other in profound ways:
Book 1: The Confidence Gap by Russ Harris
Summary:
Grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), this book offers a science-backed guide to overcoming fear and self-doubt. Harris explains how action, not perfection, builds confidence. By managing unhelpful thoughts and committing to values-based action, readers learn to move forward despite uncertainty or anxiety.
Key Takeaways:
• The myth of needing to “feel confident” before acting
• Practical tools to defuse negative self-talk
• The power of values-led behavior

Book 2: The Confidence Code by Katty Kay & Claire Shipman

This book explores the gender dynamics of confidence, especially how women experience and express it professionally. Combining neuroscience, psychology, and interviews with powerful women leaders, Kay and Shipman provide insight into why confidence matters more than competence—and how to build it intentionally.

• Confidence is more important than we think for career advancement
• Genetics, upbringing, and culture all play a role
• Confidence can be cultivated with action, risk-taking, and mindset shifts
