In recent years, the European Chapter Collaboration (ECC), in which numerous European PMI chapters had come together to create joint benefits for their members, had gone quiet.
Now there is once again an agreement between the European chapters that allows them to attend events across Europe at member discounts from the other chapters.
The former (no longer active) European Chapter Collaboration (ECC) had initiated various projects. One of these was the "European Passport Initiative", which gives chapter members of the participating chapters access to events of the other program partners at their membership conditions. Sounds more complicated than it is, so here's a small example: The Swedish chapter is organizing a congress. Converted admission: €1,000 for non-members and €500 for members. Through the European Passport Initiative, German chapter members can attend for €500. 
Thanks to the initiative of our President Dr. Andreas Berning and the President of the Sweden Chapter Katarina Strömberg, the European Passport Initiative has not only been revived but also simplified - a benefit for our chapter members.
Four simple steps are now all it takes to obtain discounted membership conditions at the other European chapter:
- Step 1: An interested member of a European chapter searches for an event hosted by a host chapter in Europe.
- Step 2: The interested chapter member visits the PMI website - www.pmi.org - and takes a screenshot #1 of their dashboard. With this screenshot, the name, membership ID and chapter membership(s) become transparent.
- Step 3: After the chapter member clicks "View Details", a second screenshot is taken of the member dashboard. With this second screenshot, the renewal date becomes transparent and thus the chapter membership is validated.
- Step 4: The interested chapter member sends an e-mail with the two screenshots attached to the event contact of the host chapter, which then issues a voucher or grants the discount in another way.
This easy-to-use approach supports four of PMI's five cultural values: Make It Easy, Aim Higher, Together We Can, Be Welcoming.
