The fight against climate change is a global challenge. Greenhouse gases do not stop at borders, so it is everyone's responsibility to reduce the amount we emit.

A PMI cross-chapter initiative aims to help raise awareness of the climate crisis.

To take action and develop solutions, we must first understand the problem. Climate Fresk is a powerful tool for providing high-quality climate education. It is accessible to anyone and can be quickly scaled within an organization or community.

In just three hours, the Climate Fresk collaborative workshop teaches the basic science behind climate change. Climate Fresk workshops are highly interactive. By activating the collective intelligence of the group, the workshops enable participants to take ownership of the issue and empower them to take action.

In the Climate Fresk method, no expert presents information to the group; instead, all participants must take an active role in building the “Fresk” and become participatory learners.

By linking the causes and effects of climate change, participants can take a step back and understand the systemic nature of the challenges.

The participants acquire knowledge and are well equipped through the workshop to implement the climate protection measures they have identified themselves personally or through projects.

Martin Bertram, VP Region Central, who took part, says:  

„I had a lot of fun with the workshop and the 3 hours flew by. I had some real aha moments, especially regarding connections and feedback loops, that I hadn't thought of before. The swarm intelligence of the participants also helped, as no expert in the workshop simply has the answers ready.  I can really only recommend participating in a workshop to anyone who wants to deal with the topic of climate change."
