260810 PMIGC PMO MP Mission 1020pxAlmost a year ago, the PMO Mentoring Program was launched. Since then, the experiences and insights gained by participants have begun to shape a first blueprint for setting up and developing PMOs.

Are you looking for peer-level sparring, field-tested templates, and a roadmap for your first months? The PMO Mentoring Program of the PMI Germany Chapter connects you with experienced mentors and fellow PMO professionals facing similar challenges.

New mentees are welcome at any time: The program has no fixed start or end date, so you can join whenever the timing is right for you.

Building a PMO is a project without a blueprint – at least, it used to be.

Projects are becoming more complex, transformation has become part of everyday business, and governance requirements continue to increase. At the same time, PMOs are expected to do much more than administer projects: they need to deliver measurable value to their organizations.

Yet many professionals setting up or repositioning a PMO are doing so for the first time. And they soon face the same practical questions: Which services should I start with? How do I gain acceptance among my stakeholders and internal customers? How do I measure impact? And what does a Minimum Viable Product for a PMO actually look like?

This is exactly where the PMO Mentoring Program (PMO-MP) of the PMI Germany Chapter comes in. It connects PMO professionals with experienced mentors who have already been through this journey – and are willing to share their knowledge, experience, and lessons learned.

Following a successful pilot phase, the PMO-MP is now an ongoing mentoring program: Interested mentees can join at any time.

What You Can Expect

  • Sparring on your real-world challenges: Regular meetings focus on your specific questions and challenges, addressed in small breakout groups or together in plenary sessions.

  • Workshops with a proven framework: We work with the perspectives of the PMO Value Ring® – the PMI framework that became a standard at the end of 2024 as the Project Management Offices Guide.

  • Tools you can put to use immediately: These include a roadmap for the first 9–12 months, interview templates, and practical tools to help align your PMO service portfolio.

  • Virtual and location-independent: The program is conducted entirely online, so there are no geographical restrictions. Please note that the PMO Mentoring Program is offered in German only.

Who Is the Program For?

The PMO-MP is designed for professionals who are responsible for a PMO, are repositioning one, or are currently building one – particularly newly appointed Heads of PMO.

You do not need to have a finished strategy or all the answers. What you should bring is a real-world use case, openness to exchanging ideas and experiences, and a willingness to participate regularly.

There is no fixed starting date: If the program fits your current PMO challenge, you can get in touch with us at any time.

Interested? We Would Be Pleased to Hear from You.

If you would rather develop your PMO through an exchange with people who have already faced similar challenges than figure everything out on your own, we would be pleased to hear from you.

Simply send a short email describing your PMO context to Annette Born and the PMO-MP Team at pmo-mp@pmi-gc.de.
