Promoting and advancing the application of professional project management in all areas of society is the overriding goal of PMI. With over 700,000 members, PMI is the world's largest organization in this field. For many, simply being a member of this great family is a benefit in itself. However, being a member of PMI and the PMI Germany Chapter also brings many other benefits. These are often not even known. For this reason, we are going on a search for you and presenting a "Benefit of the Month" every month.
Today we want to introduce the Social Responsibility Program of the PMI Germany Chapter.
The Social Responsibility Program enables members to put their knowledge, skills and experience in project management to good use for social causes. Helping makes people happy and satisfied. This is exactly what is possible here.
As a chapter, we use our project management skills to support projects in various areas on a voluntary basis:
- Projects at non-profit organizations and NGOs: We support project management, teach the basics of project methodology or actively participate in the implementation of projects ourselves. We are often called upon to help draw up a project plan and to coach the project team in difficult project situations.
- Projects at schools: We support schools in the implementation of challenging projects where project management expertise is required, e.g. projects with extracurricular project partners.
