Our Communities of Practice designed by chapter members with chapter members continue on an ongoing basis. On 29.08.2024 "General PM-CoP" will start with the topic "Integration of organizational change management into project management" and on 19.09.2024 the CoP Green Energy & Environment will start with its first event.
1) General PM-CoP - Treatment of the topic "Integration of organizational change management into project management"
In the "General PM-CoP", a wide range of topics from the broad field of project management will be examined in more detail across all sectors in a "deep dive" and new approaches to tackling the respective issues will be developed and, where appropriate, published in presentations and articles.
The first topic to be addressed will be the "Integration of organizational change management into project management".
In the context of project management, the term “change management” quickly brings to mind the need to adapt the project to new circumstances. As project managers, we balance between scope creep and new input relevant to success. However, the PMBOK Guide also gives clear indications of the influence of a project on the entire organization. It is not just the most transformative projects, but every single project has an interaction with the organization. Here, the project manager is advised not only to carry out a project tactically, but also to consider the strategic effects.
The CoP for general Project Management Topics will deal with this topic over the next few months in order to work out possible approaches. This topic will exceptionally be held in English.
Chapter members who are interested in discussing and developing solutions on how to ensure sustainable long-term project success through good change management practices are cordially invited. Our next event is Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. Please register by 7 p.m. on August 28, 2024 at: https://pmi-gc.de/event/cop-termine/cop-general-deepdive-3 (the dial-in details will be communicated shortly before the event).
