Review of our Volunteer Day
78 of the 210 volunteers of the PMI Germany Chapter accepted the invitation to the first Germany-wide Volunteer Event.
The PMI Germany Chapter owes a lot, if not everything, to volunteers. So it happened that the board of the chapter decided to inform our volunteers about current developments in the chapter even before the general member meeting on July the 1st. But how should this be done in times of pandemic – it should be interactive and give every volunteer the possibility to ask questions to each of the eleven board members?
With Wonder, an innovative platform was found that had already been used by our partner projektmagazin: here, the volunteers could switch from breakout room to breakout room in several sessions, in which the individual board members then answered questions.
The event was accompanied by the mailing of a dinner package to the 78 registered volunteers as well as by a raffle for a Disciplined Agile course, which is free for the 25 winners of the 35 participating volunteers (assuming participation this year).
So one of the main topics (besides the philosophical reflections of our president Andreas Berning on the strategy of the chapter) was the announcement of the 25 winners.
Also well received was the provision of an accompanying package with which the two hours could be sweetened with taste. The lucky ones who received the package in the mail (!) before the event got a surprise of Spreegurke, Currywurst and a real Berlin soda.
The feedback of the event was overwhelmingly good (very satisfied and satisfied more than 90%) so that the board of directors is thinking about a repetition in this or another way.
