In response to increasingly tight schedules, we have created a new event format: Mini-Webinars.
What is behind it specifically: An organizer (speaker) creates an article about a specific topic in the field of project management. Then a date is set for a half-hour webinar and created as an event on our website. The article is available for download at the event. Participants are asked to read the article before the webinar. The webinar will take place approximately three weeks later. During the webinar, the organizer (speaker) briefly summarizes the theses of his article as an impulse. This is followed by a discussion. The aim is not to exceed half an hour (we all know time-boxing). The webinar will be recorded and then made available via the chapter's Youtube channel.
We'll kick things off with a topic related to communications. Mithun Sridharan, LinkedIn, Founder of Think Insights and Global Industry Advisor at a leading cloud technology company where he advises CxOs and executives of global companies on their digital transformation initiatives and leads strategic investments in joint ventures and enterprise portfolios, will introduce the concept of top-down communication using the pyramid-principle. The pyramid principle, which originated in the management consulting industry, is a hypothesis-driven method for structured thinking and clear communication. Top-down communication is a counterintuitive approach that starts with the answer or solutions before detailing the supporting arguments. This approach works well for problem solving where the stakes are high, such as in project management, where program and project managers need to ensure continued support from busy executives and project sponsors.
