Promoting and advancing the application of professional project management in all areas of society is PMI's major overarching goal. With almost 700,000 members, PMI is the world's largest organization in this field. For many, simply being a member of this great family is a benefit in itself. For this reason we are going on a search for you and from now on we will present a "Benefit of the Month" every month.
IIn the first episode we presented the free access to the basic work of project management par excellence, the PMBOK® Guide. In addition, there are a number of other works that define standards and to which every member has free access. We would like to briefly introduce two standards to you in the following.
In the first episodes we presented the free access to some basic works of project management, such as the PMBOK® Guide. Today we want to introduce the PMI Thought Leadership Reports.
Like other fields of knowledge, project management is constantly evolving. There are new findings from science and practice that constantly develop project management as a whole or specific areas of it. PMI staff and specially commissioned agencies continuously monitor and analyze market events and emerging trends and produce thought leadership reports that are exclusively available to PMI members.

For example, the Pulse of the Profession® Report has been published annually for many years. It summarizes the most important analyses and current trends in project management. The major topic of the last report was the importance of soft and power skills for the management of projects. |

Another regularly published report is the Job Trend Report. It analyzes career and earning opportunities for project managers depending on their knowledge, experience and certifications in different industries and can be used as an excellent orientation on the labor market. |

Most recently, there was a paper on strategic risk management, "Building Resilience Through Strategic Risk Management" It explains how risk management can be made a strategic instrument to strengthen the resilience of companies. |
The Thought Leadership Reports are each in-depth analyses and insights into the latest trends and developments impacting organizations and projects. They are an excellent guide to better understand projects and project management.
