Sustainability Summit 2025

Join us for: “The Sustainable Project Manager”, a one-day online event designed for project management professionals who want to elevate their impact and drive meaningful change through sustainability. This event is brought to life by the Sustainability Community of Action, through a partnership between PMI UK and APM, and brings together thought leaders, innovators, and practitioners to explore how project managers are uniquely positioned to lead the transition to a more sustainable world.
Why Attend: As organizations increasingly embrace sustainability, project managers are at the strategic forefront. Over time, PMs have evolved from task managers to drivers of innovation and organizational change, making them the perfect catalysts to embed sustainability into projects. This requires upgrading our leadership and critical thinking skills to navigate complex challenges and make high-impact decisions. Technological advancements now allow us to recreate and model long chains of events, providing unprecedented insight into the potential outcomes of our decisions. Leveraging these tools, AI enhances our ability to apply Systems Thinking, enabling PMs to design projects that maximize positive impact and minimize unintended consequences.

Event Format: The event is structured into three main session blocks, each consisting of 45-minute presentations with networking breaks in between:
1. The Sustainable PM: Why? – Explore why project managers are in a strategic position to lead sustainability initiatives and why stepping into the sustainability driver’s seat is both an opportunity and a responsibility.
2. The Sustainable PM: How? – Discover practical tools and methodologies, including Green Project Management, Systems Thinking, and AI-driven approaches, to embed sustainability into every stage of a project.
3. The Sustainable PM: Benefits – Understand the tangible and intangible outcomes of sustainable project management for organizations, communities, and the planet.

The day also includes networking breaks, providing opportunities to connect with like-minded professionals, share insights, and explore collaboration possibilities. Whether you are just starting your sustainability journey or looking to deepen your expertise, this event will equip you with knowledge, tools, and inspiration to make a real-world impact through your projects.
