Kick-off LG Pfalz in Kaiserslautern
The language of this event depends on the participants. Default is German, but we will switch to English, if we have an international audience.
PMI Germany Chapter's LG Pfalz (Local Group Palatinate) is here and we start with an inaugural event at the 42Kaiserslautern in Kaiserslautern on June 25th, 6 PM for PMI members (PDUs!), those who think about membership and everybody interested in project management in general to introduce ourselves and our plans for the future. All are welcome.
P.S.: We are the ideal event to join while you wait for the kick-off of the match Ecuador : Germany at 10 PM. (And there will be 104 (?) games during this world cup, you can miss one)
Program
LG Pfalz – An Introduction (Jörg Müller-Kindt)
An introduction to PMI Germany Chapter e.V. in general and LG Pfalz (Local Group Palatinate) in particular. Who are we and what's the plan?
Currently the plan is to meet every third Thursday of the month in person, alternating between more formal events, with presentations, Q&A, chairs, desks and beamers etc., and more informal meetings, for spontaneous discussions, neue ideas and idea-bringers, cookies and cold drinks in a suitable location. We begin in Kaiserslautern, but if we find hosts elsewhere, we will travel through the Palatinate, ideally along the S-Bahn.
Upcoming dates:
- Summer Beer: July, 23rd , Kaiserslautern (Beergarden tbd.)
- Formal Event: August, 20th Kaiserslautern (Location and topic tbd.)
Old Man Yells at Cloud: What will I do, when the fairies (aka: “AI”) do everything? Thoughts of an old sceptic. (Jörg Müller-Kindt)
Somebody has to start, so: Yet another presentation about AI, but not quite. I am still a noob and more than sceptic about the current state of AI and its future, but – needs must – and so after a short rant about the nonsense of it all, I want to present the why and how of my own personal, cautious journey towards using AI in order to discuss with you the question: What will I (we) do, when the fairies (aka: AI) do everything and how will we coexist? (and why I – for one – would rather like to win the lottery…)
- Defining and scaling the Core Business: What is and will be my core business as a human being, potentially as a bunch of human beings, going forward? If any, what do I hire people for and when do I just conjure another sprite?
- Process over Magic: AI is not fairy dust; it’s a tool and needs to be used as such. Its purpose is to automate processes and enhance productivity, so me thinking about some nifty hand-written prompt every time I want something cannot be the alpha and omega. Not fairy dust, but my own little army of fairy helpers with a degree of autonomy, if possible. I need an architecture for a fairy kingdom! (or at least a – walled – garden)
- Fairies for service providers: As an external service provider, I must isolate my future fairy kingdom from my clients (and vice versa) and isolate the clients from each other, so: How do I use productivity gains without my fairies rampaging through the clients’ network (and vice versa) or breaking confidentiality with clients? How do I integrate the clients’ toolset(s) into my own process?
- Trust is good, control is better: Security, Data Protection and compliance, or: One day, when I grow up, I might want to have an auditable ISO-certificate (or a GDPR documentation) … And let’s not forget the costs: Money- and otherwise.
