The journey continues, the Local Group Böblingen presents.
The Problem: Why Our Project Estimates Fall Short
We often see projects exceed budgets and deadlines, and a major hidden culprit isn't the core development work, but the underestimation of critical supporting and management processes. While our focus is on deliverables, the essential "overhead" of quality assurance, risk, and change management often gets neglected. These vital activities, aligned with both ASPICE 4.0 (e.g., SUP.1, SUP.8, SUP.9, SUP.10, MAN.3, MAN.5) and foundational ISO/IEC 15288/12207 standards, create a risky blind spot in our planning.
Call to Action: Let's Collaborate on Smarter Estimation!

The Local Group Rhine-Neckar presents:
Mithun A. Sridharan: We are our decisions!
In an era dominated by AI and data, the human factor is more critical than ever.
Algorithms process information, but they can't replace the judgment needed under pressure.
Our perception is distorted by cognitive biases—hidden traps that influence our choices, from daily decisions to major life events.
While we believe we act rationally, these mental shortcuts lead us to misjudge risks, misinterpret data, and miss obvious solutions.
My talk, based on the book, Mayday! Mayday!: Decision-making Under Duress, promotes a deliberate approach to decision-making.
Using actionable insights from high-stakes, high-pressure scenarios, such as aviation incidents, I provide tools and frameworks to overcome these invisible forces.
The goal is to make traceable, justifiable, and ultimately, better decisions.
Mithun A. Sridharan is Advisor – Author - Speaker, with 23+ years of industry track record and deep expertise at the nexus between strategy, technology and behavioral psychology. Mithun serves as a change driver, turnaround expert and trusted advisor to his network of executives and leadership teams.pmi-gc.de

✴️ The biggest problem with project effort estimation isn't human error. It's the lack of a consistent, objective model that can handle complexity and customized projects.
The solution?
A neural network model for effort estimation. It involves training an artificial intelligence with historical project data to predict future effort with greater accuracy.
We are very happy to have Burcu Şengüneş with us at our Local Group event in October. We are looking forward to seeing you there too!
