On 8th March we are celebrating International Women’s Day with this year’s motto of #AccelerateAction. For this reason, PMI GC recently conducted the survey “Take the lead, seize the moment!” and posed the question to the PMI community: "What do you need to move from the second row to the frontline?".   

The survey shows how motivated our community is, and that excites us: 51% of respondents want to take on a responsible role in volunteering at PMI GC.  

Many of you feel that balancing family and work leaves little time for additional volunteer engagement in our chapter. We see this as motivation! That’s why we are already shaping volunteering at PMI Germany Chapter to enable more people to take on responsibility – and now, we’re stepping it up even more!  

You have answered our questions and formulated professional and constructive suggestions in the open questions, which give us a solid basis and that we want to tackle quickly and energetically.  

In a workshop with active members of the PMI Germany Chapter – including board representatives – we used the survey results to develop potential solutions and outline the first steps forward.   

During the discussions, it became clear that some of the ideas and suggestions mentioned already exist or are in development, such as shadowing or sponsoring for people interested in a board role, or a buddy concept for new members.  A completely new idea is to involve the families of members and volunteers more, e.g. at one of the future PMI GC PM Summits.  

We are currently revamping our marketing and communications to showcase PMI Germany Chapter as the dynamic, modern organization it truly is. Through engaging content, social media campaigns, member success stories, and a fresh, contemporary image, we’re making the chapter more visible and appealing. People want to be part of inspiring networks—and we’ll show them why PMI Germany is one of them!  

On the occasion of International Women's Day, we especially want to encourage women to take on leadership and forge new paths – for greater visibility and equality of all genders. #AccelerateAction!
