“Leading virtual teams” simply consists of team leadership with the boundary condition of exclusively or primarily tool-supported communication. This additional condition is a circumstance that has a significant impact on the topics of team building and leadership and calls for new answers to new challenges. The known knowledge on the topic remains valid, but a lot is added. In particular, priorities are shifting. Even professionals fall into one trap or another, which is avoidable. In addition, there are actually some new opportunities when dealing with virtual teams. The oft-heard mention of difficulties completely ignores new opportunities. Yes, it's different not being able to smell yourself, not being able to sit next to your favorite colleague or as far away as possible from your rival. But have you ever tried to understand everyone in a group of 20 people at an Italian restaurant in the evening? The established online replacement events with exit games, group cooking, game evenings or just a virtual after-work beer enable more. And that requires more control and new methods. The acceptance of control also increases with the recognition of the need for more leadership in less familiar terrain. I think it's clear: something is happening! There is potential to be leveraged!

The lecture is about what is going on and how the potential can be raised. Crystal-clear structure, countable and testable methods and theses are promised. Not a Larifari, but marble-hard substance. Furthermore, we adhere to the maxim of Grünhof GmbH Freiburg, one - and at times my - coworking provider, which insists on one thing in its community rules: fun and a good mood are strictly forbidden.

The participant is given clear terminology to sort through the contradictions of the superficially unclear terms. This is done by classifying the use of the term in the context (situational meaning of the term). In addition, the lecture also provides decision-making aids for the use of the agile methods examined. It's not enough to stir up a big soup from all the ingredients available with the label “hybrid”. After the presentation, the participant can add substance to the emptiness of a statement “we take the best of everything” using situational selection criteria. After all, a cookbook offers more than just a recipe.
