Deutscher Diversity Tag 2023 #DDT23 - Are we aged enough to be a project manager?

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion … are quite the common words at every workplace today. Many companies initiate events and trainings related to these topics, make it part of their mission statement and corporate values or even create a dedicated DEI organizational unit to show that this is very important for them and their projects. Irrespective of DEI events, trainings, values and mission statements, there are situations where bias gets on top of the table. One such subtle biases, one of the core dimensions of diversity and our topic of discussion is “Age”.

We might have been in situations where we were told that we are too young to manage a project, or we might have told others that they are either too young or too old to handle a specific task.

So, on this 11th German Diversity Day, let us challenge ourselves and our understanding with a few questions as a group of diverse participants and find answers to help us navigate age-related situations effectively. We would also love to hear your experiences with such situations and the measures you took to address them.

This event will be held in English. German speakers are also welcome. This will be a free online event via Zoom and the invite link will be emailed to the registered participants one day before the event.
