About the Tutor
Thomas Priess, born on October 4, 1992 in Nuremberg, is a health economist with a focus on project management in the hospital sector. During his studies in health economics (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) at the University of Bayreuth, he gained his first practical experience as a working student in project management at the Cerner Corporation.
He began his professional career at Meierhofer AG, where he was responsible as (junior) project manager for the introduction of hospital information systems (HIS) and the telematics infrastructure, among other things. From 2022, he worked as a project coordinator at Jena University Hospital and supported the implementation of projects within the framework of the Hospital Future Act in the newly founded Project Management Office (PMO). He played an active role in shaping the digital transformation and coordinated a team of five project managers.
Thomas Priess has been back at Meierhofer AG as a project manager since October 2024. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and SCRUM Master (Level I and II) and has extensive experience in managing complex IT and digitalization projects in the hospital environment. He is characterized by a structured and solution-oriented way of working.
Stefanie Gentes is a PMP-certified project manager with extensive experience in process optimization. She believes that clear goals and teamwork are critical to successfully completing a project.
Her experience ranges from managing projects of all sizes to international, cross-company projects. Stefanie's focus on people and processes ensures the sustainable success of projects.

Thomas Priess, geboren am 4. Oktober 1992 in Nürnberg, ist Gesundheitsökonom mit Schwerpunkt auf Projektmanagement im Krankenhauswesen. Während seines Studiums der Gesundheitsökonomie (B.Sc. und M.Sc.) an der Universität Bayreuth sammelte er erste praktische Erfahrungen als Werkstudent im Projektmanagement bei der Cerner Corporation. Seine berufliche Laufbahn begann er bei der Meierhofer AG, wo er als (Junior) Projektleiter unter anderem für die Einführung von Krankenhausinformationssystemen (KIS) sowie der Telematikinfrastruktur verantwortlich war. Ab 2022 war er am Universitätsklinikum Jena als Projektkoordinator tätig und unterstützte im neu gegründeten Project Management Office (PMO) die Umsetzung von Vorhaben im Rahmen des Krankenhauszukunftsgesetzes. Dabei gestaltete er die digitale Transformation aktiv mit und koordinierte ein Team von fünf Projektleitern. Seit Oktober 2024 ist Thomas Priess wieder bei der Meierhofer AG als Projektleiter tätig. Er ist zertifizierter Project Management Professional (PMP) sowie SCRUM Master (Level I und II) und verfügt über umfassende Erfahrung in der Steuerung komplexer IT- und Digitalisierungsprojekte im Krankenhausumfeld. Er zeichnet sich durch eine strukturierte und lösungsorientierte Arbeitsweise aus.
