- a well-functioning IT and
- well-functioning processes within the company.
Both require that developers and business departments understand each other and communicate well. Is this always the case? For those cases in which the exchange of ideas between the CIO and COO and often also the CFO, let's say, does not run entirely smoothly, low-code and no-code platforms are an option. These are designed to get IT into the hands of the business departments without, however, creating a shadow IT.
In our meetings with companies and implementers, the following questions are often discussed:
- What experience do companies have with low-code and no-code applications?
- What prerequisites need to be created for their use?
- What impact does this development have on organizations and society?
PMI has taken up the challenge and developed a strategic approach called "Citizen Development". The PMI Germany Chapter has taken up the approach and was one of the first chapters to establish a CoP "Citizen Development". Aspects of project management should be in the foreground. We would like to clarify:
- What do projects for the introduction of Citizen Development in the company look like?
- What influence does Citizen Development have on the management of projects?
- How can Citizen Development support project management?
- Which tools and platforms are available?
We invite all interested members to join in the discussion and actively work on organizational solutions. We are only at the beginning of the development. The tools are now comprehensive and easy to use. However, the realization of low-code and no-code applications in companies is still accompanied by many uncertainties. Here we as PMI can develop strategies and help with our experience in project management.
