As a professional association, it is important for us to pick up on topics and trends and work out what they mean for the field of project management. In the PMI Germany Chapter, we do this in so-called Communities of Practice (CoP). A CoP is a group of committed members who exchange information on practical aspects, share their experiences with each other and, if possible, also want to improve the management of projects in their respective field.

In October 2023, the CoP "Life Sciences" was founded by a number of interested members from the life sciences environment. The aim for 2024 is to significantly increase the number of people interested in the CoP. The working group is currently made up of project managers from the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical technology sectors and is looking for new committed members. We want to promote the exchange of experience and networking among project managers and organize events to improve our professionalism.

We are still in the start-up phase and plan to send a survey to PMI Germany Chapter members in the life sciences sector at the end of January to identify needs and interests related to the CoP Life Sciences and to offer an attractive working group with exciting events and current seminars.
