This year, the Pulse of the Profession Report investigated the relationship between power skills and project success.
Power skills are knowledge and abilities in the areas of communication, problem- and conflict-resolution, team leadership and strategy.
The results of the study are clear and unambiguous. Project managers with power skills are more successful in their projects than project managers who are less skilled in these areas and perceive them as less important.
The same is true for organizations. Those who focus on the listed competencies and skills when selecting and developing their employees are more successful with their projects than organizations that do not.
