Digital literacy in project management

Digital literacy in project management
The use of digital technologies has a disruptive effect on the value creation of companies and the entire economic system. New business models are emerging, old ones are being transformed. Work and business processes change accordingly and lead to new skills requirements. Therefore, in the discourse of digital transformation, the promotion of digital skills is propagated as an ability to act. Although there are some general attempts to model them, there is no clear understanding of digital skills in the context of project management.
For this reason, a model of digital skills for this domain is being developed in the current doctoral thesis. Using a systematic literature review, the dimensions of a heuristic competency structure model were derived. In order to connect general digital literacy with the requirements for action in project management, the performative level of competencies in project management was first determined using focus group interviews in order to be able to subsequently draw conclusions about activities, requirements and, last but not least, competencies. The result is a comprehensive target profile with typical action situations and requirements from project management and the digital skills required to adequately meet the challenges.
The results will be presented during the event and are welcome to be critically questioned and supplemented by the participants.
