Dear Chapter members and all those interested in project management,
I wish you all a healthy, happy, and successful New Year 2026 – filled with confidence, energy, and the courage to shape new ideas.
With December 2025, the PMI Germany Chapter has grown for the 20th consecutive month. This is a remarkable achievement and a strong signal that our community is relevant and attractive to many people. At the end of 2025, our Chapter had 4,827 members, making it – albeit by a narrow margin – the largest PMI Chapter in Europe. This growth does not happen by itself. It is the result of commitment and a vibrant community.
2026: A year full of opportunities – and a real turning point
The new issue of PMimpact, the magazine of the PMI Germany Chapter, has been published—and once again highlights how dynamically the field of project management continues to evolve. As the second issue after the relaunch, it builds on the “by members, for members” concept and combines practical insights, methodological expertise, and forward-looking trends into a compact, well-structured edition.
At the PM-Summit 2025, around 60 participants joined the workshop “Achieving Better Project Success with Power Skills and Artificial Intelligence” to explore how project management is evolving in an AI-driven world. The key insight was clear: AI can support us — but project success still relies heavily on the Power Skills of project managers. Based on the strong interest, the PMI Germany Chapter is reshaping the former General PM CoP into the new Power Skills CoP.
In today’s dynamic and ever-changing environment, risk management is more crucial than ever. Do you want to make your projects more resilient and benefit from the experience of other project managers in risk management? Then take the opportunity to join the new Risk Management Community of Practice. We are starting in January!

The event focused on demands and vivid discussions about reforms of the social security systems, reducing bureaucracy, modernizing the state, and questions around education. The overall tenor: external influences and crises can only be shaped to a limited extent, but there are many areas within Germany’s control that we must tackle.
Advancing digitalization, the increased use of AI and modern cloud architectures are leading to an increasing need for strategic orientation in IT project management. Many project managers today are active in initiatives and programs in which information technology, organizational and strategic issues are closely linked.
10,000 members in the PMI Germany Chapter – we’re ready for it!
During the Membership Meeting on 26 November 2025, the formal resolutions were passed to implement the New Membership Model in the PMI Germany Chapter.

The agenda includes the 2024 financial and audit reports, discharge of the Board, updates to the statutes, and a review and outlook on Chapter activities. The updated documents for the statutes and bylaws are linked in the invitation email.
