Promoting and advancing the application of professional project management in all areas of society is PMI's major overarching goal. With almost 700,000 members, PMI is the world's largest organization in this field. For many, simply being a member of this great family is a benefit in itself. However, being a member of PMI and the PMI Germany Chapter brings many additional benefits. These are often not even known. For this reason we are going on a search for you and from now on we will present a "Benefit of the Month" every month.

IIn the first episode we presented the free access to the basic work of project management par excellence, the PMBOK^® Guide. In addition, there are a number of other works that define standards and to which every member has free access. We would like to briefly introduce two standards to you in the following.

AI has the potential to greatly change the world of work. As with other technological innovations, existing jobs will be taken over by new applications, AI applications. Looking back at the economic history of the last 150 years, however, each technological innovation has also created new professions and fields of activity. As a rule, more new jobs have been created than have been lost. What development will occur with AI is still uncertain.

This also applies to the field of project management. According to Gartner, around 80% of traditional project management work will be taken over by clever machines by 2030. However, if one goes into concrete discussions about what will be taken over by AI applications in the daily work of a project manager, the picture often becomes blurred. It is difficult to understand how the skills in the areas of communication, team leadership, stakeholder management, or problem and conflict resolution that are crucial to project success will be taken over by AI applications.

The central topic of this conference is sustainable IT projects.

As a co-organizer of the “Project Management and Process Models 2023” conference, the chapter offers our volunteers, members and friends the opportunity to network with project managers outside the PMI community and to discuss technical topics.

The PMI Germany Chapter has set itself the task of being the network for all people in Germany who want to develop themselves further with project management, change something and be successful in doing that.

We work together in cross-cultural and cross-generational teams whose members all bring their own values, goals and dreams. Mutual understanding and openness to others are very important skills to be successful in projects and organizations.

Digital transformation is taking place at a rapid pace in all areas of society worldwide and is bringing about major changes. Regardless of the challenges we face, it is important to use innovation and creativity to drive projects forward.

To gain a global perspective on how AI works as a catalyst for change in digital transformation, all PMI members worldwide are invited to participate in a survey to provide insights on the use of AI in project management. The project is designed to gain a better understanding of the future of project management and organizational change through digital leadership.
