The mentoring program of the PMI Germany Chapter is dedicated to the mission of fostering knowledge, orientation, and the exchange of best practices when building Project Management Offices.

A Project Management Office (PMO) is an organizational unit that creates standards, methods, and transparency in project management. Especially when setting up a PMO, many questions arise: What responsibilities does a PMO take on? How can it be successfully introduced within a company? Which structures actually work in practice?

The new Unified PMI Membership model seamlessly combines your global PMI and local Germany Chapter memberships into a single, streamlined offering. Transitioning on February 2, 2026, this model is designed to create a more cohesive community experience by merging local expertise with global resources.

Project management does not merely follow currents. It sets direction. Under the theme “Thinking Upstream. Shaping the Future.” the PM Summit 2026 invites you to rethink project management beyond the application of methods – toward responsibility, impact, and long-term viability.

You do not just manage projects operationally, but challenge established routines, set deliberate impulses, and take responsibility for organizations and people? Then bring your perspective to the stage of the PM Summit 2026 in Düsseldorf. We are looking for practical, reflective, and impactful contributions from project management professionals and leaders that demonstrate how project management provides orientation today, actively shapes change, and enables the future – whether methodologically, culturally, strategically, or technologically.

The PM-Summit 2026 will take place from 17 to 18 November 2026in Düsseldorf. As a speaker, you will share your experience, position yourself as a thought leader, and connect with an engaged and international project management community.

Those who wish to actively contribute to the PM Summit 2026 can also get involved as volunteers. We are looking, for example, for Content Reviewers to review and evaluate submissions for the conference program between 1 March and 10 April 2026. The total time commitment is approximately five to ten hours. With this question, the four-part workshop series 'Strategic Alignment' of the new CoP IT Strategy in the PMI Germany Chapter kicks off on February 18, 2026, at 6:30 PM

This series is aimed at project, portfolio, and IT managers, as well as anyone working strategically at the interface between business and IT. Together, we will identify typical points of friction, discuss practical examples, and develop concrete solutions for effective IT strategies.

Artificial intelligence can support projects. But the difference between progress and standstill is still made by people. Even in the age of AI, project success depends largely on the power skills of project managers.

This is exactly where the PMI Germany Chapter comes in: the former General PM Community of Practice is being realigned and will continue as the Power Skills CoP. Its goal is to explore core competencies such as communication, collaborative leadership, problem-solving, and strategic thinking in depth and translate them into practical guidance for everyday project work.
