For the first time, we as the PMI community all over Germany are participating in the "Agile Across Europe" survey series organized by PMI Luxembourg Chapter europewide and supported by the PMI Head Office.
1. Women’s Regulars‘ Table of the PMI Germany Chapter
At the 1st Women's Regulars' Table of the PMI Germany Chapter on May 27, there will be the opportunity to network and inspire each other in a cozy atmosphere. Topics such as dealing with unconscious biases in the workplace, balancing family and PM career, and the benefits of a good network can be discussed in a confidential setting. We are also looking forward to launching the Germany Chapter's Women's Initiative at this event.
Diversity in Association Work - Best Practices for the Germany Chapter
The diversity of the events offered by the Germany Chapter is also reflected in two ways in May:
On the occasion of Diversity Day, we are continuing our series of events dedicated to the wide-ranging topic of diversity with a moderated discussion around the topic of diversity in the work of our association.
PMI Academic Forum Aachen – Official Announcement
We are very much delighted to introduce our most recent initiative, the first of its kind in Europe. With PMI Germany Chapter’s cooperation, students of RTWH Aachen University built the Academic Forum Aachen (AFA).
Career Development Workshop
121 members abroad welcomed by letter mail and Welcome Flyer
Every new member in the PMI Germany Chapter – whether coming from a merged chapter or as completely new member – received a welcome flyer in the letter mail to welcome them.
The PMI Germany Chapter is especially proud that it even sent a Welcome Flyer to all of its 121 members abroad in 31 different countries, as long as they provided a correct address on pmi.org. The restriction with the correct postal address also applies to members in Germany - so to some really no flyer could be sent.
And this is how our foreign members are distributed:

First one, then two, then many...
Since it it was only for a short time possible to become member of the PMI Germany Chapter - since January 10th - we have nevertheless already registered the first membership record. On January 10th one member made the very first step for a membership in the PMI Germany Chapter, one day later there were already two. And on January 17th, 2021 - exactly one week later - there are already 95 members who have found their way via www.pmi.org into the still young chapter. Added to this are the ca. 3.000 members who have been transferred from the other German chapters. Welcome to the new PMI Germany Chapter!
Welcome Cologne!
The new PMI Germany welcomes all members of the (former) PMI Cologne Chapter and gives you the membership for the sake of simplicity. And over 50 members have already taken advantage of this in the first 24h.
"Cologne welcome" you could say. Early on, the project group for the merger of the PMI Chapter landscape agreed to hold the door wide open for all PMI Chapter members from Cologne and to offer a free membership in the Germany Chapter. To make sure that these ideas are followed by actions, the executive board offered this to all PMI Chapter members in Cologne.
High tension in the last meters
In the end, it got really exciting again. The finish was a heartbeat finale and not for the faint-hearted.

Do you ever hear that? In a criminal story 2/3 of the time are over, but the case is already solved and the protagonists treat themselves to a beer at the bar. But there's still something to come... A twist, a surprise, an insight that shakes everything up again.
It was something like that in the final part of the PMI Germany Chapter merger project. Originally, the general meetings for the approval of the merger were supposed to take place already in April 2020. Thanks to Corona, everything had to be postponed - but politics had subsequently laid the groundwork for virtual general meetings. And so, after the summer break, the membership meetings at the participating chapters were held in September 2020. The approvals of the members were all more than 90%. Done. Done? The remainder is only a matter of formalities. Register the association and the whole thing is done. This is the moment when the protagonists in a crime novel meet at the bar.The following restriction hovered over us: The registration had to take place in 2020 because, in formal legal terms, the merger had already begun on January 1, 2020. Define 2020? 31.12.2020 23:59h.
